Michele Crosera
Where light, space, and soul meet.

Artist Statement
I’ve wanted to be a photographer for as long as I can remember. To me, photography is not merely a way to document—it is a language through which I see the world and understand life.
I live and work in Venice, a city that has shaped my way of seeing. Its light, architecture, and theatrical tradition continue to influence both my subjects and my sensibility.
For over thirty years, I’ve worked across different contexts and environments: at Venice’s Teatro La Fenice, I capture the emotional intensity of opera and performance; in the streets and among buildings, I explore the dialogue between light and structure; in the gaze of a person, I search for a trace of the soul.
Whether on stage or in real life, in a portrait or an architectural frame, my lens is always in pursuit of the same thing: that fleeting, unrepeatable moment that deserves to be held and remembered.
I believe that every photograph is an extension of time.
Over the years, my work has been published by major international press agencies, including Reuters, Agence France-Presse, Getty Images, and the New York Times, as well as leading newspapers and media in Italy, the UK, France, and Spain.
My photographic practice spans theatrical and stage photography, architecture, portraiture, and visual reportage.
